Can You Help?

Pickering Memorial Hall is is managed for the benefit of the people of Pickering by volunteers who are the trustees of Pickering War Memorial Charitable Trust.

A lovely old building like the Memorial Hall costs a great deal each year to maintain, heat, light and insure, and, being a charitable trust, we rely entirely on donations as well as the income we raise through bookings of our excellent facilities.

This is where YOU can help……………..just a small monthly gift from you helps us enormously. It need not be much; just £3 or £5 (or whatever you feel you can afford), given each month by direct debit, will help us to keep the Hall in excellent condition and allow us to maintain our booking fees as low as possible so that the people of Pickering can, affordably, use and visit this wonderful building.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who owns Pickering Memorial Hall?

Pickering’s Memorial Hall is not, as many believe, owned (or even managed) by Pickering Town Council. The Memorial Hall is, in fact, managed for the benefit of the people of Pickering by volunteers who are the trustees of Pickering War Memorial Charitable Trust. The trust relies mainly on income from those people or organisations who rent rooms or facilities within the hall. Pickering Town Council happens to be one of the Hall’s tenants, but other organisations and businesses have offices in the building as well. The Hall’s other main source of income is its growing number of donors, known as “Friends”.

What's inside the Hall?

Pickering Memorial Hall contains a small number of offices (all currently occupied by Pickering Town Council or local businesses) as well as three rooms that are available for hire at extremely competitive rates. See "Facilities" at the top of this page for more details.

How do I book?

Booking one of our available spaces is easy. It's all explained in "Booking" at the top of this page.

Went there for one of my grandson's friends birthday party. Super place - a good size room, kids enjoyed themselves, all in all the place was ideal, would highly recommend.

Been here many times to art exhibitions, plant sales, model railway show and selling clothes hats shoes etc on war weekend. Nicely maintained. You must see the Whistler painting on the ground floor. Useful place for Pickering residents.

Just booked the hall for a birthday party. How helpful and well equipped. Really impressed and at a very reasonable cost
